William E. "Dr. Bill" Sterling, Jr., O.D.


Dr. Sterling has called Polk County home for almost 60 years. He graduated from Auburndale Senior High School before earning his Associate's of Arts degree from Polk Community College in Winter Haven. He went on to earn his Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, and his Master's of Art's degree from Louisiana Technological University in Ruston, Louisiana. He served 3 years as an optometrist in the United State's Air Force before returning home to Polk County. Dr. Sterling has cared for the eyes of people in Polk County since 1978 and has owned his own optometry practice on Havendale Boulevard since 1985. He is a member of the following professional organizations: the Florida Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Lake Region Optometric Society. He loves what he does and has a dedicated office staff to help him meet the needs of his patients; therefore, he has no plans to retire any time soon.

Dr. Sterling is a fixture of the Auburndale community. Giving back to the community is his chief hobby. He has been an active member of the Auburndale Rotary Club and the Auburndale Chamber of Commerce since 1980. He was a founding member of both the Auburndale Main Street Redevelopment Association and the Auburndale Community Redevelopment Association (CRA). He has served as an advisory board member for the Mid Florida Home Health Services, Inc. and the Citizen's Bank Advisory Board. Currently, he is a City Commissioner in Auburndale and has 14 years of prior elected experience on the City Commission including 2 years as the Mayor of Auburndale. He was elected to the Auburndale High School Hall of Fame in 2007. He is a member of Gideon's International and the Polk County Central Gideon Camp. He is a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Auburndale where he and his wife play handbells. He is a loving husband to his wife, Jo, a devoted dad to his daughter, Emily, and a great friend. In his spare time, Dr. Sterling enjoys gardening, traveling, talking to people, and drinking sweet tea.

Lynn Bradshaw, L.D.O., A.B.O.C.


Licensed since 1982, Lynn has served Central Florida for over 30 years providing the quality eye care that his patients and friends deserve. Lynn started his career working in an optical laboratory which served most of the area doctors and dispensaries. After serving his mandatory apprenticeship, Lynn sat for and passed the State Board of Opticianries License Test and was Awarded the title of Licensed Dispensing Optician. He continued his studies and was also certified by the American Board of Opticanry and became a fellow in the National Academy of Opticianry. Lynn, also, received his Associate's of Science degree from Polk State College.

Lynn's optical career included working for 20 years with such groups as Davidson and Tivnan O.D., P.A., Eye Clinic of Mid Florida, Eye Specialists of Mid Florida, Eye Surgery and Laser Center as well as being the optician/ office manager of Heart of Florida Optical for 10 years where he refined his studies in “Low Vision” applications.

Lynn has also worked as a well respected and successful professional photographer for over 20 years.

His favorite hobbies are fly fishing, target shooting, and his family and grandchildren.

Megan Hyatt


After graduating Winter Haven High School, Megan, enrolled in the Optometric Assisting Program at Traviss Career Center. In 2002, after passing her state boards she came to Dr. Sterling's office, fell in love with her job and patients and has been here ever since. She married her husband, Keilen, in 2010 and the following year had their son, Van.

Currently, Megan, is enrolled in Florida's Apprenticeship Program to become a Licensed Dispensing Optician. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, the gym, shooting skeet and cycling with her husband, and playing with her son.
As a dedicated member of Dr. Sterling's staff she strives to make every patients experience at our office pleasant and fun. And is always willing to go above and beyond to meet those expectations.

Skye Hayes


Skye is a wonderfully outgoing member of our front desk staff. Not only is she the smile that greets you, but also the person to see about scheduling appointments, ordering contacts and insurance. She is a graduate of, both, Auburndale High School and Polk Community College. As a highly active member of her church, First United Methodist of Auburndale, she sings, teaches drama, and volunteers with the youth group. Her hobbies are singing and spending time with friends and family.

Molly Witt


Molly is the newest member of Dr. Sterling's staff. This friendly, family oriented, interpreting student (ASL) has been in optical for two and a half years. She has a knack for finding the right frame for any face, and loves to learn everything she can about the industry. So, come on in and let this native of the Lone Star State, with the big smile, help you look, feel and see your very best!
